The Access Control page contains links to the following tools:
Access Rules. Access rules allows you to grant or restrict mail delivery and mail relay access rights to individual email addresses, IP address ranges, or entire domains. This option can be used to prevent users on your server from receiving mail from specific groups or individuals. Although it is not recommended (see the Security Alert in the Adding Access Rules section), you can also override your server's preinstalled anti-relay features to allow trusted IP addresses to send mail through your outbound mail server.
Automatic Relay Authorization. Automatic Relay Authorization allows you to specify who can and cannot send mail through your server. By default, your server uses POP Authentication to prevent unauthorized use of your outbound mail service. This option only allows mail to be sent through your server if the sender has previously picked mail up from the server. Each time one of your users successfully retrieves mail from your server, the user's IP address is automatically added to the list. In this way, only valid users are allowed to use your mail services to send mail across the Internet.
Specific actions performed through these tools are further explained in the following sections.
